Our mission was clear from the very beginning, scuba diving to be accessible to all, scuba diving to be learned by all. Now, we have made an even more important step towards reaching our goals, we have become a Disabled Divers International ( DDI ) dive center, one of the very few in Indonesia and specially Bali.
We would like to begin with a very special thank you and a lot of sincere appreciation to our DDI Instructor Trainer, Sander Buis from our dear friends at Oceans5 in Gili Air. Going through one of the most professional fun courses we’ve had the pleasure of having, during three days of training we learned and understood the other side of scuba diving itself.
We have understood that scuba diving can be accessible indeed to almost everybody. We understood that there are no limits and that we often look at things from the wrong perspective so this course for us did not only bring a lot of more experience and knowledge but purely said it opened our eyes and broaden our views.
One of the most important chapters of the DDI training in Bali was about dive center facilities. That is why at this moment our dive center is undergoing significant changes and adjustments, all meant to accommodate our future Disabled Divers. When thinking about adjustments we are of course speaking about special ramps, restroom and shower support bars, special restaurant and bar accessories and utensil etc.
However, by far, the most important adjustment that we are making is training our staff for properly assisting when and if needed our Disabled Divers. It comes without a second thought that we have to be conscious of our surroundings and each and every guest that crosses our paths.
At the same time, we are working on our website presentation for Disabled Divers in Bali. We will soon launch a new special page for disabled diving in Bali and we will publish special logos on all existing pages of our dive locations to show which ones are suitable.
But of course, scuba diving in Bali is not the only concept that we are looking at because so many people dream of learning scuba diving and becoming certified divers. This is absolutely possible and it is perhaps the first understanding we should have in mind, almost everybody can become a certified scuba diver.
We are looking forward to the future and to the adventure of all of this.
